“My name’s Chris Wood, I’m Executive Director in Invest SA in the Department of Trade and Investment in South Australia.
We’re back here again this year because we had a really good experience in our first year, we want to show all our allies in the U.S. that we’re in a leadership position in renewable energy and clean hydrogen production in Australia.
It’s really important for us to connect with our allies and let them know what we’re doing in South Australia and how easy it is to do business with us. We have many common ideology and some common goals as far as our energy security goes, our economic security, and I believe there are plenty of projects where we can have joint collaboration and deliver projects not only here in the U.S. but also in South Australia for our mutual benefit.
We’ve been very impressed actually with the broad scope of the people that have been here, we’ve had many enquiries from not only equipment suppliers but also project developers, so investors and proponents alike.
I think it’s a really great forum for us to tell our story, to talk about how we are leading that renewable energy pitch in Australia, we’re currently at 74% renewable energy which really surprises a lot of people but it shows that we are very focused on what we need to do, not only for South Australia but for everyone here globally.”
