During America’s leading hydrogen event #H2Americas2024 Summit & Exhibition, we spoke to global and regional #hydrogen and #energy leaders about the future outlook for the hydrogen industry, including an interview with George Drake, Global Project Manager, HSB.
“My name is George Drake I’m with HSB, we’re out of Hartford Connecticut and we’ve been in business for 115 years.
It’s a lessons learned, so our company does inspections and certifications, there are presently not good surrounding rules and regulations around hydrogen, we want people to make sure if they are working in hydrogen they are doing it safely, they’re meeting any requirements that need to be done, and let’s make this a better world.
Our experience here has been great, we were here last year, we got the exact same booth, the exact same location, we have the same next door neighbors, it’s been really really great. The volume of people yesterday all the way through the day was great.
I’ve met people from the DOE, I’ve met people that are startups, I’ve met some companies that are huge in the industry, so this has been really really good. This is what brought HSB back this year is we had such a great turnout last year and got some good leads, and let’s face it once the money starts flowing, business for everyone will be great.
We’ve met PhDs, doctorates, we’ve met engineers, degreed engineers, we’ve met CEOs, we’ve met entrepreneurs, we’ve met financiers for some projects, so we’ve really found a good cross mixture. It’s not just the technology people, it’s not just the banking people, it really is a great mix, I found that last year and I found the same thing again this year.
I found out we’re going to change locations for next year, somebody put a bird in my ear and told me where it’s going to be, so I’m going to start looking at the venue, I’ve already got my sheet for next year and it looks like they’re going to do the event in September which is probably a little better for me and my company. I’ve already got the sheet ready to send to my marketing folks to get us on the list for next year.
This has been a great experience, I think the host and the venue is great, and I think that the marketing for the campaign has been great.”
