Thiemo Schalk holds a master’s degree in Political Sciences from the Ludwig-Maximilians University, Munich. He serves at the Sacramento office as the BMW Group representative with his broad expertise regarding electromobility, sustainability, and circular economy. He is in great favor of revolutionizing mobility: equitable, zeroemission, congestion-free, and high-quality for everybody.
Being with the BMW Group for over twelve years, Thiemo gathered an expertise in numerous projects around such topics and held responsibility for the BMW Group’s cooperation with the second biggest German City, Hamburg, on Car Share and Public charging infrastructure. In Germany, he served as BMW Group’s urban mobility representative on several boards like the National City Platform for Urban Mobility (PUM) and within the national Automotive Association VDA. Currently, Thiemo represents BMW of North America on the ITSDavis Board of Advisors. Building up trustful relationships with all stakeholders, to elaborate solutions with mutual benefits is one of his focus tasks in the U.S. Western Region. Prior to his role in California, he was engaged in various internal change projects and oftentimes part of task forces around critical issues such as Brexit and Covid-19.
Before joining the BMW Group, Thiemo started his career in a Munichbased consulting firm as a key account manager for McDonald’s Deutschland, Inc.
