Sarah Lawson is the Deputy Team lead of the USAID/Washington Global Energy Division. Sarah has served in 11 countries managing and implementing USAID energy programs. She was most recently contributing to energy activities in South Africa and Tunisia. In Washington, she manages USAID’s partnerships with the National Renewable Energy Labs and the Scaling Up Renewable Energy Project. Her technical focus has been on procurement of utility-scale wind and solar projects. Sarah began at USAID as a Presidential Management Fellow, detailing to the DFC and USAID/India. She has a Master’s in International Economics from Johns Hopkins SAIS with a focus on energy policy and African affairs and a B.A. in International Relations from Tufts University.
